Care
  • How do I take care of my Maradji bag?

In order to keep it as long as possible, we recommend that you take the greatest care of it first! Leather is a naturally fragile material that requires attention to keep its original appearance and requires meticulous care. Therefore, avoid rubbing against rough materials, dark clothing or water.

    For suede leather :
To make it more resistant to stains, you can waterproof it regularly with our waterproofing agent. We recommend that you make a first try on an inconspicuous part of your bag to see how it looks. For daily care, you can brush the suede to remove dust, using our shine brush. To revive the colour, use our Sublime Suede. Finally, for small stains, you can use a suede eraser, which is often very effective!

    For smooth leather :
To make it more resistant to stains, you can waterproof it regularly with our waterproofing agent. We recommend that you make a first test on an inconspicuous part of your bag to see how it looks. If your bag tarnishes, you can nourish it and soften it with a care cream. For daily maintenance, you can brush the leather to remove dust, using our shine brush.

  • I stained my bag, help!

You must act quickly! If you react quickly, the damage will be limited. If it is a water stain, let the bag dry in the open air, away from any heat source. If it is a grease stain, you can quickly apply Terre de Sommières to absorb it. Beware of false good ideas! If you have any doubts, do not hesitate to contact Customer Service or ask a professional leather specialist.

  • Do I need to waterproof my bag?

It is recommended to waterproof the bag before the first use and to renew the operation if necessary every 2/3 months. It is imperative to use a colourless waterproofing spray and to respect a minimum distance of 30 cm when spraying so as not to stain the leather.

  • The leather has discoloured, what should I do?

The leather has faded, what can I do? "Prolonged contact with water, sunlight, moonlight, strong artificial light, and variations in temperature and humidity can significantly and prematurely alter the dyeing of the leather. It is best to be vigilant and keep the bag in a clean, dry and ventilated place, and under its protective cover if I am not going to wear it for a while.

If your bag has completely discoloured, there is still one option: re-dye it. To do this you can contact a specialist company, such as Renaissance Cuir in Paris.

  • My garment has stained the leather, what can I do?

This can happen when the bag rubs against a raw and/or new textile, which disgorges. In this case, the garment disgorges onto the leather and marks it irreversibly, but over time the leather will develop a patina and the marks will fade.

  • My bag has stained my clothes, what can I do?

Oops! The coloured pigments have transferred to your clothes when rubbed. Be careful when wearing a bright or dark coloured bag and avoid wearing them over light coloured clothing. If in doubt, rub an inconspicuous area of the bag vigorously against a white sheet of paper to check for marks.

  • Which leather care products should I use?

Please note that some products are not suitable for all types of leather and may change its appearance, texture, colour or even stain it. If you have any doubts, please contact Customer Service or a professional leather specialist.

  • Can the appearance of the leather change when the bag is used?

Leather is a natural material that can evolve prematurely if left untended. Over time, it evolves and acquires a patina: this natural wear manifests itself in variations of colour and texture that give the leather its cachet and enhance its authenticity.

Beware of prolonged contact with water, sunlight, moonlight, strong artificial light, as well as variations in temperature and humidity, which can significantly and prematurely alter the appearance of the leather. It is best to be vigilant and keep the bag in a clean, dry and ventilated place, and under its protective cover if you are not going to wear it for a while.
